    How long have you been with CREW? Dec 2017

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? I am the co-founder and executive director of CREW309. When I saw a post about starting a rowing team for breast cancer survivors in Peoria, I knew immediately this is where I belonged. As a collegiate rower and breast cancer survivor, CREW309 combines two very important parts of who I am!

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? I love watching the progress new members make with the rowing stroke. I am inspired by every member on our team; the way they show up for themselves and each other is what makes CREW309 so special.

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is Director of Fundraising & Events. I enjoy coordinating events, building relationships within the community and fundraising for CREW309 so this role was a natural fit. I also take pride in contributing to the livelihood and sustainability of the team.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? Being part of CREW309 has brought me so much happiness. My favorite part of the team will always be the members. These ladies are the most inspiring, strong, caring women that I have had the pleasure of knowing.

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is Director of Finance/Treasurer. What drew me to this role is that CREW309 has turned the curse of cancer into a blessing for me and I want to help this organization grow so that more individuals can experience the same joy that I have.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? My favorite part of CREW309 is our ability to have fun, be supportive of one another, and at the same time work together to achieve our necessary exercise goals to reduce our cancer recurrence risk. Cancer is tough, but when we are together the fear and anxiety melt away.

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? Director of Community Outreach - I enjoy the excitement of bringing our mission to the community and the community to our mission.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? The long-term friendships that have lasted over time, the connection we all have together.

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is assistant treasurer. I’m the “bill payer” in my household. By joining the board in this role, I can use my experience to help the Treasurer with smaller tasks.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? My favorite part about being on the team is water season with my amazing CREW mates. These positive, uplifting, kind, fun women mean the world to me! Social events are a blast!

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is board secretary. I wanted to get involved and felt this was a position that fit me.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? I love this form of exercise and the supportive friendships are a definite bonus.

    How long have you been with CREW? Oct 2021

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? Director of Programs. Being a part of CREW is so much more than rowing on an erg or rowing in the water. It’s also about community and I took this position so I could help to further develop that sense of community.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? The people, hands-down, we have the best ladies in the world here!

    How long have you been with CREW? Aug 2022

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? I am the Outreach Coordinator for Crew 309. I am a nurse at Illinois Cancer Care and I see women on a daily basis who are lost after diagnosis or after treatment and unsure how to get from check up to check up. I joined Crew and met the most amazing women and have grown mentally and physically. I want to be able to help other women like Crew helped me.

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? All the people I have met. It is like family.

    How long have you been with CREW? Aug 2021

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is assistant head coach. I love helping and celebrating the physical goals and milestones these women set out to achieve. They are inspiring!

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? The connection and camaraderie is beyond what words can describe. Pair that with helping women realize how strong they are and it is infectious to be around.

    How long have you been with CREW? Nov 2023

    What is your role on the board? What drew you to this role? My role with CREW309 is social media coordinator. I joined the team in November 2023 with hopes of jumping in with both feet and rowing, rowing, rowing! Shortly after joining, I developed some additional breast cancer related medical issues, requiring surgery, and I was benched. Being unable to participate with rowing, I was anxious to become involved somehow! My past experience as a social media "poster" at a previous group I volunteered with along with the fun I have doing my own social media made this a perfect combo for me!

    What is your favorite part about being on the team? I have found that the support I've received from other team members - even those I haven't met in person - to be AMAZING!
